Installation questions, answered
What happens during the survey?
Your engineer checks the rooms, confirms the best unit positions, plans the pipe route and condensate drain, and gives you a fixed price. Most surveys take under an hour and many can be done by video.
Will installation make mess?
Minimal. Our engineers use dust sheets, drill neat 50mm core holes and tidy up fully. Pipework is run as discreetly as possible, with trunking colour-matched where it's visible.
Do I need planning permission?
For most homes, no - a single external unit is usually permitted development. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some flats can differ; we'll flag anything during the survey.
How efficient is air conditioning for heating?
Very. A modern air-to-air heat pump delivers around 3–4 kW of heat per 1 kW of electricity, making it cheaper to run than direct electric heating and competitive with gas.
